Fleet Air Arm Photo / Letter Grouping
This is a small, photo and letter grouping, belonging to a Fleet Air Arm Mechanic , called George Felton.

Felton was from Birmingham and served from 1943 to 1946.

Postwar, he worked from 1948 to 1958 at Elmdon Airport, near Birmingham.

The photos are particularly interesting , but arguably, it is the collection of some 40-80 letters, that really tell the story of this serviceman.

Dating from 1943, the letters give a remarkable insight into wartime life and the Home Front.

They are all dated, legible, detailed and well written.

The ship was sunk in December 1941, by the Japanese.

Whether there was a family connection to the battleship, is open to further research, with this grouping.

Hampshire Royal Garrison Artillery Booklet
This is a unusual example of First World War, Army humour at it's best.

It is Christmas 1914 dated and clearly, a locally made publication for South Sea Castle garrison in Hampshire.

It is unit marked to the Number 4 Company RGA, Hants, as shown.

Number 4 Company manned the fort at the outbreak of the First World War, but were later transferred to France.
